Perfect Print Template Specifications

General Requirements for Perfect Print CD:

  • Place all artwork in the region between the A and B dimensions.
  • If you are using Perfect Print, DO NOT place any art in the center region (the A dimension).
  • The Index Mark must be black.

How to Rotate the Index Mark:

  1. Open Adobe Illustrator.
  2. Open the CD template file.
  3. Select the "Index Mark" layer.
  4. Select the Index Mark with the mouse. Be sure that you do not move the Index Mark.
  5. Select the Rotate field from the Transform palette and enter the required degree position.

Re-Centering Items:

If the Index Mark (or other objects) was accidentally moved, use the following procedure to re-center the object.

  1. Select the object.
  2. In the Transform palette, set the Reference Options to center position, and the X and Y values to:
    X=4.25"
    Y=5.5"

A=1.97" or 50 mm
B=4.65" or 118 mm

How to Rotate the Index Mark:

  1. Open CorelDRAW.
  2. Open the CD template file.
  3. Select the Index Mark with the mouse. Be sure that you do not move the Index Mark.
  4. Select Transform Roll-Up from the Effects menu.
  5. Click the Rotate icon from the Transform Roll-Up. (The Index Mark should be centered at H=4.25" and V=5.5". If not, go to "Re-Centering Items" below.)
  6. If "Relative to Center" is selected, un-select it.
  7. Enter the angle of rotation in the Angle of Rotation box. (Negative values rotate clockwise; positive values rotate counter-clockwise.)
  8. Click Apply.

Re-Centering Items:
If the Index Mark (or other objects) was accidentally moved, use the following procedure to re-center the object.

  1. Select the object with the mouse.
  2. Select Transform Roll-Up from the Effects menu.
  3. Click the Move icon from the Transform Roll-Up.
  4. If "Relative Position" is selected, un-select it.
  5. Set the H and V values to:

    V=5.5"
  6. Click Apply.

CD-ROM Silkscreen Templates

Design a CD-ROM for silkscreen layout leaving the inner ring uncoated.

Note: Recommend this if your client's artwork is text only, or contains small graphics with much of the actual CD showing through.

Dimensions:
These measurements cover the silver data area of the CD only.
A = 1.77" or 45 mm
B = 4.65" or 118 mm

Design a CD-ROM with the inner ring silkscreened.

Note: Recommend this if your client's artwork includes a flood coat or large graphics with little of the actual CD showing through.

Dimensions:
These measurements cover the entire printable area of the CD.
A = 0.71" or 18 mm
B = 1.29" or 33 mm
C = 1.46" or 37 mm
D = 4.65" or 118 mm
